Tofu Pad Thai
Indulge in a delicious and flavorful Tofu Pad Thai recipe that is sure to please your taste buds. This easy-to-follow recipe will show you how to create this popular Thai dish at home.
Supplies
Ingredients:
- 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- Rice noodles
- Assorted vegetables (bean sprouts, carrots, green onions)
- Peanuts, crushed (for garnish)
For Pad Thai Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce
Prepare Rice Noodles
Cook rice noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until well combined. Set aside.
Cook Tofu
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove tofu from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté Garlic
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Sauté Vegetables
Add sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
Combine Ingredients
Add the cooked rice noodles, cooked tofu, bean sprouts, and sliced green onions to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and tofu. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
Adjust Seasoning
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. If you prefer your Pad Thai to be spicier, you can add more Sriracha sauce at this point.
Plate and Garnish
Remove from heat and transfer to serving plates. Garnish with chopped peanuts (if using), lime wedges, and fresh cilantro.
Serve and Enjoy
Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Tofu Pad Thai!
