No-Leg Rocking Chair

This is my take on a rocking chair I used to have. It didn't have any legs, only a rounded bottom, so you were sitting very low to the ground and could rock back and forth. It is much more fun to sit in than a normal chair and much more comfortable too. However, the original chair I used to have didn't have the rolling circular design that I gave this one. I added it to improve comfort and make the chair look even cooler. I made sure when I was rounding the back to not make it to round as to while you're rocking, completely roll the chair over. This was my first time using this 3d modeling software, and I had some difficulties adjusting, so I hope this design came out well.

All you need to make this design is the online free program Tinkercad.

Chair Shape

I started this design by placing overlapping circles in the general shape I wanted to make my chair.

Flatten the Back

Then, on the backside of the chair, I flattened it out with the placement of multiple rectangular prisms. This was to make sure that when it rocks back, it doesn't get caught on the bumps, which should, in turn, make it smoother to rock.

Grouping and Sizing

Next, I just grouped the shapes together so that I could stretch the chair to be a good width.

Coloring and Smoothing

Lastly, I placed some semi-cylinders to make the areas we flattened out earlier more round to give the rocking a final touch of smoothness. I set my final chair to the original color I used to own, but you can make it whatever color you like.
