Wooden Wall Clock | Laser Cut, Wall Art
Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing this clean, minimalist wall clock I made entirely from 3mm plywood. It's a perfect weekend project if you have access to a laser cutter — quick to cut, easy to assemble, and very satisfying to see ticking on your wall.
Supplies
Materials
- 3mm plywood sheet (birch works beautifully — aim for about 60×40 cm or larger to fit everything)
- The clock movement and the corresponding hour, minute, and second hands.
- Wood glue (PVA or similar)
- Hanging hardware: small sawtooth hanger or just a simple keyhole slot cut into the back layer
Tools
- Machine: NEJE Max 4 Laser cutter
- Software: LightBurn
- Spray: white, black, cyan, orange, brown

Import the SVG file. Arrange it on your material—make sure the design fits within your plywood piece

Engraving and Cutting
Recommended starting settings for 3mm plywood:
- Engraving: Power 60-75%, Speed 12000-15000 mm/min, 1 pass
- Engraving: Power 60-75%, Speed 5000 mm/min, 1 pass
- Cutting: Power 85-95%, Speed 350-500 mm/min, 1 pass
Air assist on helps a lot for clean cuts. Frame the job to check positioning, then hit Start.
Coloring and Asssembly
Spray the selected areas with different paints, then apply two layers of adhesive, making sure their shapes match the lines and contours of the base layer.
Assembling Clock Parts
Secure the movement completely (use the nut/washer from the kit on the back side).
Then, align it with the hole and insert the hands: the hour hand first (usually has a hexagonal shape), then the minute hand, and then the second hand if included.
If your movement doesn't have a hanging mechanism, add your own hanging hardware to the back—either glue/screw a small sawtooth hanger near the top, or drill tiny holes for cord/string.
ps:If you want greater stability, you can apply glue between the movement mounting area and the plywood (be careful to avoid the glue contacting any moving parts). You can also apply some tape to the back of the movement to prevent it from coming loose.

Hang it on the wall and step back—your custom laser-cut wooden clock is complete!
