Banana Peel Bacon - 16 Steps (with Pictures)
Eating banana peels? Yuck!
Well, actually, yum!
This banana peel bacon has such a satisfying snap and is actually so reminiscent of real bacon, it’s kind of crazy. A salty-smoky marinade and a turn in the frying pan transform banana peels into crispy-chewy vegan bacon.
Ingredients
Banana Peels
1 tbsp cooking oil
Marinade
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp of maple syrup (You may use honey if you're not vegan)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
In a Bowl, Combine 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp of Maple Syrup
1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
Mix Well
Remove Peels From the Bananas
Tear Into Smaller Strips
Cut Off the Edges
Using a Spoon, Scrape Off the White Inside Part of the Banana Peel
Put the Banana Peslsin the Marinade
Marinate for 10-20 Minutes
Heat 1 Tbsp of Cooking Oil in a Pan
Fry Each Side for 2 Min Over Medium Heat
